SUMMARY
DESCRIPTION:
The Senior Java/JEE Developer will architect, design and implement technical
solutions to meet the needs of business communities in various divisions. In
this role, the Developer will be working with business stakeholders and project
managers to understand the requirements, formulate technical designs, work with
a technical team to implement and test the solutions to ensure compliance to
requirements and technical standards. The Developer will also provide
development support to production applications.
A successful candidate should have a strong JDK, JSE and JEE background and
possess a proven track record of defining and delivering high quality solutions
through the application of software development best practices.
PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Architect, design and
develop JEE applications under tight deadlines with minimal supervision
Define and articulate
technical designs with the appropriate details to both business clients and
technical teams
Develop project
construction, test, and deployment plans
Coordinate and
complete project tasks
Participate in
technical reviews throughout the course of development projects
Senior level, hands-on experience with:
- Architecture and troubleshooting of
system level components including web server, application server, database
or other components
- OO design and development in an Internet
Web site environment using Java IDEs – Eclipse / MyEclipse preferred
- JEE development on a JBoss / WebLogic –
JBoss preferred
- Enterprise application integration
(preferably via Web Service)
- Data modeling and database
implementation for Web applications (preferably mySQL 5and Oracle 9i)
- Build automation with Ant / Maven
In Depth
knowledge of:
- Technology stack of JEE including JSP,
JMS, JNDI, etc
Java IDE's (preferably Eclipse)
- Common open source frameworks or tools
(Spring, JQuery, Hibernate, log4j, ant)
- Caching or other technologies for high
performance web site delivery
- Software development methodologies (RUP)
- JEE Application Server Deployment Models
(preferably WebSphere)
UML modeling
- Sever and network infrastructure
- Build tools like Ant and Maven
- XML – handling and usage
Familiar with:
- Portal ' Portlet development (PlumTree /
ALUI portal preferred)
- Web content management
- Web services (SOAP, UDDI, XML)
Requirements
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems -
required (masters preferred)
REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE /SKILLS:
- 4+ years experience in Information
Technology industry
- Strong written and verbal communication
skills
- Strong analytical and critical thinking
skills
- Strong technical presentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and
requests
ADDITIONAL WORK
EXPERIENCE /SKILLS:
Experience with Linux / Unix OS
Experience in the Oil and Gas industry is a plus
Experience with Eclipse RCP, SWT is a plus
